im trying to get ear gauges and i want to know with what size to start with

Most earrings are anywhere from 20-18. When they are that small, it is hard to notice. Your best bet is to go to a professional piercer and have them taper your ears to a 12 or 10 (depending on how much pain you want!). You can also do a punch, but I don't recommend that. If you want to do the home method, you can get tapered earrings yourself, or just put multiple earrings in. The tapered earrings will work better because it'll keep the hole stretching evenly.

I believe a regular earring is around a 20, so you might want to start with an 18--the smallest gauge I've ever seen in stores.

every one need to just get the smalest one so if thay not like it thay can just take it out so you now if you like that one you
can go to a biger one in a feue week if you like so you can get used to the smalet one you can go to the next size if you like to
