This assumes that a family will be willing to carry on your legacy of revenge and that the other will as well. It also assumes that revenge is personal, as in one on one. It may not be. It may be a whole group. And a person may not take revenge on you if they thought the person you killed deserved it. All this implies that because of some tussle one of my and someone elses ancestors got in and my ancestor was killed that I would go to the decendant of the murderer and kill him. That is retarded. Revenge is temporary, and should not be drawn out, and if it is, its ridiculous and gets people nowhere. Look at the wars between jews, muslims, and christians. They are killing eachother for stuff that happened over 2000 years ago. Do they honestly believe that their gods want them to go slaughter each other over a technicality? I doubt it. Even more ascinine is the muslim sects in Iraq. The difference between them originally is who the actual successor to Mohammed should have been 1500+ years ago. One said the next in blood line, the other said next in religious ranking. What the hell?! They are keeping alive a 1500+ year old argument of a bearucratic position! It would be like a 1500+ year legal battle of who is next CEO of a company-the son/daughter on the CEO, or the guy right under him in bearucratic heirarchy? Except people are dying over the muslim differences. It is all about power and dominance, and so is revenge.

I believe revenge works if your idea of revenge is not letting the initial act devastate you and I'd even go so far as to flip it into a learning experience that can change your very existence. If revenge is praying for your 'enemies' to receive blessings. What better outcome than a wrong doer being blessed to the extent that they put away their uncaring nature an become a better person.

It may initially work for some people as it might help relieve some of that person's unresolved anger. I personally don't think that it works, at least not in my life. Everyone should really try to eliminate this practice from their lives. As you state, revenge is basically a vicious cycle.
Take care.

Godly formulation paintings powerfully. searching for revenge or vengeance is breaching the protection of abiding under the capacity of Christ. The avenger then will become a aim for evil. Revenge won't be able to paintings in that's human application. How can the two be avenged? So revenge purely fuels hostilities, fixing not something, ruining all it touches. It additionally twists intrinsically with a spirit of vindictiveness. It unleashes a spirit of fury and tension This unwise circulate additionally supplants the 'seat of discovering' which occurs whilst ultimate under Christ. this might properly be a place the place the Christian can decelerate and actual watch/pray for Godly possibilities to be presented. All of Christ's Teachings are obtainable from abiding under His authority. Even the international does poorly to seek for vengeance. Their are innumerable books written on very own/organization fulfillment via attitudes and character strengths that are taken from Biblical teachings. Godly formulation are so powerful that they are in a position to paintings even for the international. the international makes use of vengeance in conflict. because of the fact purely God particularly achieves vengeance and victory, purely His intervention with regards to an effect of conflict, works. in any different case vengeance or revenge are in uncomplicated terms illusions and are on no account particularly executed exterior of God. for this reason the scripture.

Revenge doesn't need to be fatal. Therefore I say yes", if only for the satisfaction it brings.
Frank Sinatra has been quoted as saying, " The best revenge is massive success". Who wouldn't agree with that?

Revenge works! Or more specificially, according to game-theory the best strategy is 'tit-for-tat' meaning if someone does something to you, you should do it back to them (revenge).
Of course, that is the scientific answer.

Revenge doesn't work almost all the time but a good way to end it would be to take revene without letting them know it's you doing it.
