This discussion came up in my class and some said dallas is not famous for anything specific like other big cities in U.S???

The Mavs, the Cowboys, JFK, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Bill Parcells, Neiman Marcus. They also have some pretty cool bands in Dallas.

Dallas is most famous for the Kennedy assasination in 1963. People all around the country painted a picture of Dallas in their minds as being a city of killers. Most of America blamed them for the murder. It really was a shame because Dallas hasn't been known for much of anything else. It's really just a plain city that tries too hard to be like the bigger cities (LA, Chicago, New York).
A lot of the world knows Dallas because of the hit TV show during the 80s.
I am absolutely shocked at the people on this response that claim that the Cowboys are the most famous thing about Dallas. A president was killed in office while visiting Dallas. Do they teach you absolutely nothing in school?

You're right Dallas isn't famous for anything, unlike New York, or San Francisco, or even Philadelphia...
The first thing that comes to mind is the Dallas Cowboys, a team I despise.
And then there's Debbie Does Dallas - the porn film...
