I would vote for a black/female, whatever president, if the person were qualified. I would be concerned that the black person know what danger they will be getting themselves into. I am not ignorant of the fact that many people would be tempted to assassinate such a person. Sad. A woman would have been difficult for me to vote for at one time, because the leaders of countries, with which foreign policy is most volatile, may not respect a woman's authority due to their beliefs. However, I see women in positions of power that are doing very well as ambassadors. So, my position has changed. I would vote for a woman.

I would not use race to qualify my voting for someone
I know others would not vote for a Black just because they are racist
Just as I know those that would vote for a person because they are black and they are just as Racist
vote the person not the RACE
anything else is wasting your vote
Now demos you vote for a person based on color as there will not be a Black elected in my lifetime just a fact of life

I think it all depends on the candidate him/herself. I think America is ready and I know I personally would vote for a black president or a woman president if I thought they could do a good job!!
I don't see democrat, republican, black, white, red, purple, etc.. I see the person.
I think if we did have a black or female pres. America would pay more attention to him/her

yes i would vote for a black u.s. president, color really doesn't matter. what matters is that he won't make stupid decisions as our current president. what's the difference black people voted for a white president so why is it so different in voting on a black president?..it's not. we're soppose to be a country of equal opportunities. people need to stop being so ignorant and just learn about obama and just decide if they're going to vote for him by his promises and what he wants to do with our country instead of trying to decide if you should vote for him because he's black.

If he was someone I could believe in, you betcha.
Skin color is NOT the most important thing about a person. It's who they are and what they do that counts.
I think they would need a lot more secret service security than a white person, altho as many people as there are that absolutely HATE GWB, I could be wrong on that one. LOL
Colin Powell didn't run because of death threats on him and his family. There are still racist idiots that would try to elminate a black president, or even a candidate, solely based on what they look like. i think it's stupid to base your opinion of a person on something they couldn't change if they wanted to, and probably WOULDN'T want to change if they could.

I would vote for the right candidate regardless of color. The only thing that would detract me is the media hype going off the deep end about the first black president. There is a first of everything and we don't need people moving the focus of his obligation of guiding the country to any other issue. As long as the issue is politics he has my vote.

I would vote for a black president as long as he/she was qualified!
I don't think it's a matter of race anymore, I think it's a matter of finding the right people to run who is willing to face the real issues at hand!!!

Why wouldn't I? I would vote for whoever I thought would make the better president, irrespective of party or anything else. Even considering the color of the candidate is a bit racist, don't you think?

I wouldn't have a hard time voting for a Black President as long as s/he was the most qualified and stood up for my beliefs. Finding that person is a much tougher issue.
