I recently got a bacterial infection from douching. I wanted to know was there any more methods that I could use to prevent that "not so fresh" feeling after my period ends or after sex?

When taking a shower, take the removable shower head and point it in your vagina. Make sure that the pressure is not high, but is warm and let the water go in there and flush the blood out. After wards have fun and crank up that pressure and move that shower head to your clitoris.

Have fun.

Use plain water, never perfumed soaps I know this sounds gross but after several trips to the doc for yeast and bacterial infections I finally learned my lesson. YOu can also use plain yogurt, yep yogurt... if you were just "freshening up" between showers just wash off with a wet wash cloth, plain water or sit on the edge of the tub (legs in) and use a cup to rinse off with.

Take baths for a couple of days after you period, or after having sex. Let cha girl soak! If you can't use douche anymore, they have those sanitary wipes. They might have the same ingredients as douche, but you won't be using that MUCH, and it's not going up in the vagina, but still keeping you fresh. Baby powder is an old favorite too!

That's because douching is a terrible idea. So is using just about every "feminine" cleaning product. They simply are not needed.

Check these links for more information.

taking bathes in the worse thing for infections, i know you seem to feel cleaner when you do take one but it only adds to the infection, only take showers and avoid lotions and perfumes down there, just wash with soap and water , no bubble bathes or gels , make sure you always dry off good , there are sensitive wipes out there aswell for between times, hope this helped
