Yes, I had one... in fact, I think I just got rid of it a few years ago when we had to clean out my parents basement after a pipe burst. I actually found a link with a description and a picture. I've pasted it below.

It doesn't look like an owl to me, and I thought I remembered an owl as well. But, its definitely the right colors... ahhh yellow (or orange) and brown... the colors of the 70's.

Click on the link... there's a photo and a description. Apparently it was made by Texas Instruments.

Sure sounds familiar but I thought it was a clock and his eyes moved and wings went up and down. Back in the late 70s I think.
Was it like the spelling wizards with the handle on top? (not sure what a mortarboard is.)

Reminds me of another of my childhood toys: Do you remember a plastic red game that resembled a phone receiver with buttons in the center and a variety of logic type games on it? eMail if you do. I'd love to find one.

Yes and his eyes were red lights. My favorite "high tech" toy of the 70's was a toy called "Quiz Kid". Little books hooked onto a calculator and asked questions. I wish I could find one today. Maybe I'll check e bay.

Yes, I had one when I was a kid. It wasn't really a calculator though. It gave you math questions and you had to get the right answer. More like a math game.

Yes I remember it. I think every kid had one, I know mine did. I still see them sometimes at garage sales etc. Thanks for the memory!
