Climate Change or Global Warming?
"The phrase 'climate change' is growing in preferred use to 'global warming' because it helps convey that there are changes in addition to rising temperatures."

The National Academies

Sorry to copy and paste but this kind of sums it up I think.

Global warming is not that simple, you should watch that movie by al gore, "Inconvenient truth" or if you dont like AL Gore look up some information online. Global warming has more to do with global temperature rising by 1 - 5 degrees on average. This does not seem alot but the problem is the icecaps are melting and if enough ice melts at the poles this will cause a HUGE problem for the worlds weather patterns. The real bad effects from global warming are still in the future. Which is why we need to act now before it is too late. BTW, 2006 was the hottest year in the history of record keeping.

Based on history, there is no such thing as global warming. This happened a hundred years ago. I live in southwest Michigan and I am loving the weather. Yesterday we got a foot of snow, next week it's gona be 60 degree's. If there is such a thing as global warming, then I say let's all do what we can to help out with it. By that I mean let's buy 20 cans of hairspray and help make the winters a little more tolerable. As you all saw at the gas pumps this morning, gas is below $2 because of our mild winter. Let's follow Howard Sterns lead and spray as many can's of hairspray into the atmosphere as possible! Booba booey rules!

HEET = Energy. The more heat there in in the atmosphere, the greater the dynamic; flux. This is causing abnormal, i.e. El Nino influenced dips in the N. Jet Stream. Allowing bursts of Arctic air into what were abnormally warm sectors. The ICE, & violent storms were caused by frigid air colliding with abnormally warm moist air. Normally, it would be sustained cold.

This is a great reason why we need to use the top available technology we have invented, and shift from Internal Combustion engines, where ever possible to Electric Vehicles. NOW!!!

No. It is just another change going on with the Planet Earth. The "Alarmists" think that man has managed to cause global warming in the space of 150-200 years. I think it really arrogant to believe that we managed to make all this happen in such a short space of time when the Earth has been here for billions of years and has gone through climatic changes from ice ages to volcanic stages and will continue to do so.

You cannot look at an individual incident and say, "That's Global Warming." Only the analysis of trends over a long timeframe can that be determined.

The reason is we are using energy sources that pollute the air and create global warming. If we change energy source to clean and renewable options, we:

- reverse climate change
- reverse air pollution
- can stop dumping toxic waste in waters and land
- can stop depending on those who control the oil and those who fight and kill to get it
- can stop wars and withdraw troops from oil rich countries we currently need to control
- can stop imposing on other countries to meet our energy needs and insane consumer habits (for temporary satisfaction any)
- can create new industries, jobs and ways of life
- can create independence with energy supply in all countries
- can create a level playing field in all countries when it comes to energy and industries (how the rich & powerful fear this, they can't control anyone anymore)
- can create better health for all humans, animals, plants and our living environment
- can create paradise on Earth for all

Cold weather? Global warming? They're just symptoms.

It may be part of it..I've heard that this year we are going to be expecting the El Nino again---The global temperatures seem to be increasing and unless we lower our emissions we will not be able to prevent a Global catastrophe that will ensue.

Actually, yes. Look at the science. It is cold where it should be warm and warmer where it should be cold.

When the so call ed experts can tell me if it will rain or not on my birthday next year with a greater than 50% accuracy then perhaps I will have to rethink my disdain for their ridiculous position on global warming and what will happen in ten or twenty years
