It depends on what your skin type is. It also depends on what kind of liquid foundation or if you want to use another kind of foundation. Foundation is only meant to hide flaws, if you're skin is healthy then don't bother, it will just clog pores and then you really will WANT to use it. The reason they say to use powder after foundation is to make it so your face doesn't seem shiny and will help your eyeshadow stay put. If you really want to try something different but aren't ready to use foundation, you could try using a powder in your color.
Your best bet would be to go to the mall and have those free makeovers, they'll tell you all you need to know while they make you pretty!

If ur younger than 18 than you shouldn't use liquid foundation, because your young and the foundation can dry out ur skin alot easier than older people. Plus most young teens don't apply foundation on correctly which causes them to look fake. I recommend just using a powder if u just want a little coverage. If ur wanting to use the foundation to cover up acne or redness on ur skin, than you should use a redness relief cleanser. Another reason you should not weart foundation is that most people will choose the wrong color of foundation. Plus your age could affect u weargin foundation because younger teens skin is alot drier than a normal average aged person skin, and the foundation will get into your pores and could possible cause more breakouts. If you want to wear a powder i recommend using loreal loose powder, almay loose powder, because it won't look so clumpy on your skin. which is something else wearing foundation could do. I hope this helped

using powder foundation is the best. if you go on line to the bare minerals site and get there bisque foundation and clear radiance powder you wont have to worrie about liquid make up ever again!!!! also, you need a very good foundation brush to apply the powder so you can buy that through there web site as well. (you can even try the pressed powder from mac and get a nice brush, that would work too)

HOW DO I USE MY FOUNDATION?
The very first step in selecting your perfect foundation is assessing your skin type, to determine the type of foundation that would work best for you.
Selecting the right shade of foundation for your skin tone is critical. Most women have yellow-based skin. To get a perfect match, they need to wear foundations with a yellow base, eg Sacha Cosmetics yellow-based foundations . When womenidentify and wear their correct shade of yellow-based foundation, their skin will look flawless and natural-looking.
Apply your foundation with a cosmetic sponge for more control and a smoother application.
Liquid foundation should be blended in a little at a time until the entire face is completed.
Cream foundation should be applied to the face in long sweeping motions using your cosmetic sponge. Blend evenly until you create a smooth flawless finish.
Powder foundation should be applied as you would your normal compact powder.
Remember proper blending is the key - blend your foundation under the jawline, into the hairline, on the ear lobes. Pay special attention to the corners of the nose, corners of the mouth, over and under the eyes. If you need to retouch a particular spot, re-apply lightly and blend. Lightly powder with a translucent powder to set your foundation.
TIP: Test foundation along your jawline - not on your hand and definitely not on the inside of your wrist. View it under different light settings. It must match the natural color of your neck.
TIP: For easy transition from day to night makeup, touch up with Sacha’s Dual Activ Foundation. It will provide the finish of a powder with the coverage of a foundation.
TIP: Dampen your cosmetic sponge to create a sheer finish.

It just depends on the look you are trying to achieve. I use powder foundation and then a translucent all over cover and I like the way it looks. You can do either or depends on if you want a matte finish or a nice sheen to your skin.

Yes, you have to wear liquid for any type of skin, so that way the color that you put in your eyes stay longer.
ALso use a good lotion in your face and a good soup that keeps you away from wrinkles, dont forget use the liquid fundation then the powder then the traslucid , those are the three things you have to wear before you use color on top.

Using foundation that matches with your skin tone will help to cover blemishes and even out your skin tone. It also helps with discoloratin and just gives your skin an overall smooth and even appearance. I would say it is fairly important to use, but everyone has their own preference when it comes to how much or how little make up they wear.
