I have a Black Molly who constantly chases my keyhole cichlid all over the tank , he also chases my swordtails and platis. I removed him for a couple of hours but soon after putting him back he started again. any clues how to solve this one ?

Is he the only molly? You could get a few more so he can take out his energy on his friends instead of everyone else.
You could also get a few more keyhole cichlids.

Moving the tank decor around can also help, and be sure to provide lots of cover, hiding spots, plants (silk or real) etc for the fish to hide in.

If your one molly just can't keep his hands to himself, you may have to consider bringing him back to the petstore or getting him a tank of his own.

This is common male molly behavior. In the case of other swordtails, and platies he is trying to male with the females, and drive off the males. Females will some times do this before giving birth. Female molly have a rounded anal fin, while males have a pointed. In the case of the male he really needs a harem of females. Get him a female molly or 2. Generally I try and keep at least 2 females per male.

Rearranging things in the tank usually seems to help. If all else fails you can drill a bunch of small holes in a clear plastic container for circulation and submerge it in the tank with the Molly in it for a few days. This gives it a chance to get used to the other fish in the tank without having the ability to bully them.

Good luck!

The problem is, he's a male and he is trying to establish his dominance. I have several mollies and the silver alpha male does the same thing. When your cichlid gets bigger, he might retaliate with damaging results...you may want to separate him in another tank.

they are going to consume their toddlers for some reason or different. They make a undeniable breeding tank/holder for that. Has some variety of v shape on the backside the toddlers drop into or something. i've got often purely left the mummy interior the tank, whilst she has the toddlers, i could fish them out with a internet and positioned them interior the breeding internet. That way with the flowers and gravel, they have a extremely better hazard at survival/hiding. it fairly is a discomfort inspite of the incontrovertible fact that attempting to discover all of them, they are so small, and purely once you think of you're executed looking all of them, there is going yet another one lol.
