1) Make sure you spell everything correctly on an up to date CV.
2) Look in local newspapers and also national ones.
3) See if the local LEA has a website which lists current vacancies in their area.

Look at local councils websites for job vacancies or to register with a supply pool.
Tameside's is www.tameside.gov.uk.
Curently, there are 4 teaching assistant jobs available in Tameside - at St John Fisher RC Primary School (closing date Jan. 19th), at Canon Burrows CE Primary School (closing date Jan. 19th), at Broadbottom Primary School (closing date Jan. 26th) and at St Damian's Science College (closing date Jan. 26th).
There are, also, posts available for 2 Early Years Workers (level 3) based at Children's Centres & Extended Education Service.
Good luck with your job hunting!

Often visiting a school and asking at the office helps. Leave a copy of your CV, but make sure you spell check everything first. You are looking for a job in a school, usually supporting children with difficulties so basic skills are important to employers. I know this because I am the person who looks at CVs and makes the decision whether to pass them on to the head teacher.

Wouldn't you need decent spelling and grammar first?
