So basically upon marrying Lady Diana and going through all that, he did not come out victorious and is having problems getting back respect from the public. But was he always this unpopular? I know he was crown Prince of Wales at the age of 19 and oddly enough when I saw pictures of him when he was like 30 and younger, he actually looked good. Grant it, not as hot as William ever looked, but he didn't look the way he looks now. LOL

No, before he married Diana, he was more popular. When he was in his twenties, the press predicted if he'd marry current girlfriends like how they are doing to William currently.

Never really popular. Kind of sad, not able to hold his own against Mama.

But, since he married Diana and then betrayed her with Old Horseface, there's lots of people who quit respecting him.

A sad, comic figure. What's to admire there?

He was never really popular but he fell even farther after
Dianna and has never regained even his earlier level of popularity.

He was always as appealing as a "mama's little boy" can be, just that now he is "mama's little senior citizen".
