Some of the file names in folders are changing to blue color from black. It started with the song folder and now some of the others too have changed blue. The computer is running pretty good. no freezes, no shut downs. I have scanned for Viruses and Spyware with Norton and Webroot, and its all OK. Could you tell me what is going on? Thanks.

You're probably using Windows XP. The blue filenames indicate, that the files have been compressed to save space. You can choose which folders make use of compression by right clicking on the folder and choosing "Settings...". Then klick on the lower right side on "Advanced...". There you can toggle, if the files can be compressed or archived.

The compression saves space on your harddisk, but makes loading a tiny little bit slower, if you measure it with benchmark programs. However normally you won't feel a difference between loading times.

The blue folders and files are archived ones.
They have changed blue to save space on your hard drive, so it's nothing to worry about.
They have just been compressed.
It usually happens after a number of months, you can change the amount of time before files are automatically compressed, just can't remember where it is!

If everything seems clean of 'bad stuff' all I can suggest is to check and see if something(program or application) that you've downloaded is responsible. Sorry I can't think of anything else that would cause this.

I use "Folder Marker" to change the display colour of my folders. But if you haven't downloaded loaded anything like that then I am at a loss to explain your problem.
