My husband wants me not to drive, he doesn't want to open a bank account so he lets his mother pay our bills. Well we give her that money and she pays them. This summer we where almost divorced but I was in a car accident and about died so I decided to come back and be with him and my son(who is two). I want to go back too college and have my own career but he doesn;t want me to I cannot even go to my families by myself because my car was totaled and I cannot drive his. I just want to be happy. What do I do? Everyone of my friend tell me I am stupied.

Marriage is life's greatest mystery. Just remember to be faithful and know that this day too shall pass and tomorrow is not far away. As long as your faith is strong the Lord will not let you suffer long. Pray about your situation everyday, whenever you think about it and trust that the Lord will bring you brighter days, which he will. I don't know if you are a spiritual person or not, but now is a good time to start being one. I have my own marrital problems and the advice I'm giving you right now I should be taking myself, because it's pretty darn good. Just remember to keep your head up and try your best to do what right by yourself, and your husband. Just because he is acting crazy doesn't mean you have to. Things will work out exactly how they should.

Do you enjoy being treated as if you are a child? My mother-in-law tried to convince my hubby to let her handle finances and I put a stop to that immediately. I'm sure you are a wonderful caring person but it sounds like you have turned into a doormat. If you ever want a chance to be a happy human I would suggest leaving him and taking your son with you. He obviously has no respect for you and he wants to keep you home and stuck there because he is afraid of losing you. Please talk to someone or even Women's refuge could help. You're kind of a domestic slave hon.

You keep saying he doesn't want you to, but you don't say that he has done anything agressive to stop you. If this is happening, it sounds to me that your letting it happen. If you want a bank account, go and open one...but make sure that you are responsible with it, don't screw it up by overdrafting the account. It sounds like you are perfectly capable of doing this things, but you don't want to fight for them. You alwo need to make sure your husband knows how you fell, don't assume that he is aware of what is going on.

no your not stupid I am in the same situation as you but right now he is in jail I have 2 kids with him he is so striked withme to I cant even go to the store by my self or go anywere else and if I go to my mom's house he'll call me there just to make sure I was there and who is there how long have you been with him and ask your self if you really love him and if you feel that he loves you back? email me please I would like to continue with this conversation I want to help my name is Lupe Sanchez by the way.

You may not be stupid, but you ARE with a controlling and abusive person. If I were you, I would seriously think of getting out. The way your husband handles his marriage is dysfunctional.
