There is such a thing as a Semptron using a AM2 socket. There is also a Socket A model and a 754 model. Make sure what model you have (or getting). Only a AM2 model will work in a AM2 socket.

It depends. The Sempron 3000 came in Socket 939 and AM2 both. If it is AM2, then yes. If 939, then no. =)

The only Sempron 3000+ with a speed of 2.0Ghz I found uses socket A, so I would say no.

AM2 is 940 pins and (excluding manilla) Sempron is 754

BTW you cant use socket 940 processors on AM2 !!!!
