The earth as a ball of rock in space will likely be here until the end of time.. The sun with go Nova but will only be about the size of Venus' orbit. The earth will be baked of all life and water and most of the less resilient surface minerals will be blown into space.. then the sun with shrink to white dwarf and the earth along with all the other objects not incinerated by the final fling of our sun will continue orbiting until one day when it all gets sucked into a black hole or blown apart by a passing Super Nova explosion. The earth will be here for billions of years. That is unless some other event occurs which causes an early death of the solar system.

The Earth will last a very long time. People will be here long after you personally are gone.
We're not threatened with total destruction. In rich countries, the question is whether, 50 years from now, we'll be enjoying the same good life that most people spending time on Yahoo answers enjoy. That is very much threatened by things like global warming. In poor countries many people are already threatened by death from starvation. And that may get worse. But not all of them.

The sun has approximately 5 billion years of life left in it (fuel). After that it will explode into a Red Giant and swallow up the Earth.
So the Earth has about 5 billion years left.

The earth will last another few billion years until the sun becomes a red giant and burns it up. This is true whether humanity survives or not. We don't need to save the planet. It would do just fine whether we're here or not.

Earth will last until the sun gets too big, or we get hit by a huge asteroid.
Quite a few million years yet.
