I'm all for ending proverty, but doesn't it seem that some governments in countries like Africa would rather see their people poor and starving so other countries will give them money/aide than to take care of it's own people? This would be the main way to end proverty in each country. We still need to do our part but individual countires should be held accountable also. Some stuff their own bank accounts with money that should go to help the people of their own countries......

First of all. Africa is made of a lot of small countries, each with their own governments. Each of those countries is still divided by tribes, or factions. Many african countries are in a constant state of civil war. Outside of that, many of the governments are not legitimate governments or are very corrrupt.

I agree with you, I think the US should just start worrying about the people here in the states that need the help or worry about paying off that decifit instead of spending all that time and money trying to help other countries who are probably never going to change anyway. Just like when I get junk mail asking me to help a child in some other country - I just throw it away because I know that child will not get all the money that I would be sending to them.

they care about their own money more than their people. actually, in fact, some african countries are developing rapidly. ATTENTION, what you see on the CNN may not be what's happening in the entire Africa.
