I think people do talk about the troops in Iraq, Its all over the news channels actually but sometimes we need a break so we turn the channel to entertainment or something. Its depressing to hear bad news all the time. Just becausae people are interested in other things doesnt mean we arent thinking about the troops and being Iraq, hopefully well be out of there soon, but I doubt it.

It's down to attitudes. If people talk about people dying in wars it makes them think the war is bad and makes the government look bad. That's why celebrities are used to cover up the badness in the rest of the world.

Probably because a large majority of this country finds celebrity gossip more interesting than news about the war. I think people are tired of watching the news and hearing about all of the people who died in Iraq that day.

Because the unfortunate soldier makes headlines the day of his/her death, then again on his/her funeral/memorial,were as the celebrity is on 24/7.

Because it is easier to live the fantasy of celebrity than it is to live the reality of war.
Sad but true!
