Abortion is murder and those who have them should be treated the same as a murderer. I mean when a killer murders a pregnant woman they are charged with two counts!

Abortion is a touchy subject. I've had that unfortunate experience. I think depending on the circumstances, sometimes it is warrented, such as cases of incest or rape. I believe that the counseling that is given beforehand is very factual and informative. The experience itself was mildly unpleasant. However, I do NOT believe that the follow up visits are helpful from anything other than a medical/physical stand point. There is not any support or counseling of any kind to deal with the psychological aftermath of the ordeal offered by the clinics or doctor's offices that offer the procedure. The mental and emotional after affects and effects of having the abortion almost devastated me. Perhaps with the proper aftercare (mentally) I wouldn't wonder everyday...what if??
It is an extremely hard decision, obviously life altering to all parties involved. It should not be taken lightly or rushed into. Get the facts, educate and inform yourself and your partner. This is one of those major, life altering decisions that you will carry with you the rest of your life. Whether you are for or against abortion, know the facts, before deciding anything or judge anyone. You may think you know where you stand on this issue, until you're the one faced with the decisions. It's easy to stand back and condemn or up hold an issue because of your "beliefs". Until you've experienced something first hand...try to learn from those who've actually been there.

ABORTION SHOULD NEVER BE USED AS BIRTH CONTROL!!
I can understand that there are several situation's that could render an abortion a viable alternative. Rape, incest, teenage pregnancy (no hope for the future, baby or mom).
I ABSOLUTELY HATE that some woman continue to have unprotected sex (same or multiple partners) and use abortion as though it was the pill or a diaphragm.
The morning after pill, for accidental breakage of condoms, is a good thought. Rape victims, should go to the hospital immediately following, but if they choose not to, the morning after pill is still a good choice.
Condoms are available everywhere! Free, if money is the problem. Diaphragms, birth control pill, IUD, and about a dozen other physician supervised birth control devices. Not to mention abstinence. Parents KNOWING where their children are and what they are doing! Mitigating circumstances are always a factor, and it SHOULD, be left to the women / couples to make that choice, but I think that abortion has gotten to be a little bit routine for some, and that is not right! These are my thoughts.

Abortion is a HOT topic amongst everyone (in the US especially).
It all boils down to one's personal religious beliefs.
I, personally, do not think it is - or will ever be - my right to decide whether a person lives or dies. An embryo, fetus, or whatever you want to call it - IS alive. Everyone has been put on this earth with a purpose to serve in the great scheme of things_ how can one person decide whether or not to give this person a chance at life? It is unfair that a life suffers from a couple's irresposibility - which is sex. SEX MAKES BABIES! Don't partake in the act if you can't handle the outcome.
There unfortunately has been - and will be in the future the cases of rape or molestation that result in a pregnancy. . In these cases - you have to sympathize - but again - everyone is brought to the earth for a reason. There are LOTS of options out there to chose if you will not be able to take care of a child properly. Killing it shouldn't be one.
I have had LOTS of friends/associates that have gotten abortions - only to get pregnant again and keep the baby that time less than a year following the abortion! HELLO! what is the purpose for that?! what if the baby you killed was the 'angel baby' ?
As a health-care professional it is against my code of conduct and personal decision to never judge anyone. . even for killing their own seed. All I can keep in my mind is the fact that that couple or mother will live with the fact of what they did for the rest of their lives - and no-one thinking back doesn't have regrets/questions of the "what if- ?"
I could go on, and on. . but I'm sure you get my drift : ) ......

Wow, another hot topic!

I guess it all comes down to your view on when a human becomes a human; then, it's a matter of thinking whether eliminating something inside of someone else is murder.

I think that right now, in the USA, you become human when you are actually born; that's when our government starts counting measuring your existance in terms of years.

I also think that it is a personal choice; if you hate abortion, don't abort. If it's based in religion, don't abort if you believe in religion whatever religion.

I personally wouldn't agree to an abortion, but I think it's impossible to know what it's like to be in a situation where I would consider abortion an option; I've never been raped, etc.

Tough question, I doubt if anyone will change your opinion on this issue at this day and age...

I think the choice is ultimately the woman's but I would not do it for any old reason. There would have to be circumstances as to why I would have an abortion. Personally, I have never had one but I have had friends who have, some did it for good reasons and some for bad. A good reason to me would be RAPE... anything else sounds like an excuse. My concern is, why not take care of yourself in the first place, so the issue never has to come up? If you know that you have medical issues or financial issues or are too young, then think before you act. It's very simple, protect yourself.

Well there's a question that's going to set folks off...

Personally I am opposed to abortion. But as a man, I don't think I have a right to force a woman's choice in the matter.

The entire issue is a woman's issue, and men should remain out of it...

I also think that abortion must remain legal, to avoid going back to the days of back alley abortions with coat hangers.

Until we provide adequate sex education, and birth control to the population as a whole, we need to provide a safe means for those unprepared to be parents to end a pregnancy.

As I mentioned, I am personally opposed to abortion. But support a woman's right to choose. In that capacity I have assisted several of my female friends in surviving the trauma of having an abortion. I have acted as the 'male partner' in getting pregnancy tests done, and have held the hand of a woman during the procedure.

Although I was opposed to it - I did not impose, or even tell my lady friends my opinions.

Its up to women, not men.

Just my .01

I would kill someone to stop them from invading my home and hurting or kidnapping my loved ones, but I am against abortion. This is hypocrisy that I can not reconcile. However, the denial of pro-choicers bothers me. I have no problem admitting that I would be killing in self-defense but pro-choicers seem to deny that they are killing at all. I, in self defense, accept other solutions to avoid deadly force, such as home alarm systems and prevention, but pro-choicers seem to want to encourage abortion. I think the day will come when humanity looks back on abortion and is ashamed. Abortion as a medical procedure may be necessary at times but it bothers me more that there are eager people that cheer-lead the cause rather than regret the occurrence.

Not only do I disagree, but I am an adoptive parent and tell everyone I get the chance to that I would be more than happy to adopt any child if abortion was the choice. I believe every child should be given life, even those who were conceived in the wrong situations. Prayers =)

It's MURDER.

Sadly some little w hores even use abortion as "birth control" I have heard of girls having multiple abortions. There's no excuse for abortion in this day in age! Even if your a complete f ucking idiot and can't remember to take a pill everyday they have shots. The only abortion I could see is where a child is raped and becomes pregnant. But as far as s luts running around getting knocked up every five minutes only to run to the abortionist is SICK.

My thoughts are that abortion should be avoided if at all necessary and I guess I am technically pro-life but I also think it is important to have abortion be legal, and I do not judge anyone who had made the decision to have one because it is most likely a horrible enough thing to go through without being harassed by people who should keep their noses out of other people's business. So I am also pro-choice. Sorry if that's wishy washy...
