Question For People Who Own The Sims 2?

I don't have it, but I'm hoping to get it. But my mom is very protective over me (It's her job) and she is saying she doesn't think I can get it cause it says it has Mature Sexual Themes, Realistic Violence, Sexual Themes, and Violence. It isn't really that bad... is it??? How can I convince my mom it's not that bad. Or is it that bad? Anyway, Thanks!

I play The Sims 2. I started playing it when I was about nine or tennish. It's not such a bad game at all. They blur everything out (like when they take a shower) and the Sims speak their own language so they don't swear. It's kind of like a real life situation, you have to gets the kids on the bus on time, make sure the adults are ready for work, and if you have a baby or a toddler, call a nanny. You try to feed the family, but you need to restock the fridge, which costs money, and have enough money to keep your Sims alive!
But I think it's your mother's choice on whether it's okay of you to play it. Maybe if you went to www.thesims2.com and you two looked it over, it would be okay. But what your mother says goes.

No, seriously, i have it and there is no violence, the most violence there is, is when some sims who dont like each other, have a fight (which you cant see; its surrounded by a cloud of dust! and its NOT realistic at all). Your sims can have sex, but its called woohoo and you dont see anything at all!! also, all sims private parts are covered by pixles! You can kiss though! But its not very sexual! I was 13 when i got the sims!
Just say to your mum, that its only fake little people and that you dont take it seriously!

I play and I'm a mom I would let my 13 year play. Most of the stuff is not graphic like to others say. I would if I were let my Mom play with me for a while so she can see how the game is.

Only watch out or you might be fighting with her for computer time to play the Sims 2 LOL

She is right...it does have sexual themes(very little violence).

hey im 13 too and my parents weren't bothered by those things...besides,the violence is only sims fighting,attacting each other,slapping,etc..
and when there in the bathroom its censored...unless you type in the cheat but you won't want to do that if you don't want ti get in trouble with your mom.
and when there 'doing it' its under the covers...and the sims kiss,make out,hug,cuddle,etc. but yeah it isn't that bad,depending on how you look at it.
besides,its rated T for teens,and 13 is considered teen i guess...well sort of

I got the Sims when I was 12.......it isnt bad at all it never shows anything and the fights you cant see.....If your mom's still worries assure her you wont take anything in lol but seriously i agree w/ minnie when she says theres nothing wrong w/ it.....maybe you should buy it and let ur mom play first to reassure her

Well tell your mother that the game is just like life. You can choose what you do with your time in the game too just as much as u can in real life.

well i dont noe how old you are but its really not that bad.they dont show nudity but you do create reletionships and can become bf and gf!!its a VERY good game!
