I normally do not wear make-up. Actually, I never really have incorperated make-up into my routine. I normally feel very self-consious when I do manage to put make-up on. Is that normal?

Anyway, I'm looking to start putting on make-up daily. What are some steps for good natural looking day-time make up? What are some steps for natural looking evening-make up? Last but not least what is your brand of make-up? I think I'm going to try Clinique brand but I'm not too sure what exactly is the best for a natural look. Thanks for your answers!

I also thought I'd add I have very nice skin (I use the Clinique line for that) and a nice style. It's just the make-up that's my concern. I’ve actually had my make up done professionally and loved the outcome but every time I try to do it for myself I end up screwing it up.

Clinique is pretty good to start out with. Its very natural looking, cheap, and it wont clogg your pores. I would also suggest getting into mineral makeup, however that is more expensive.

What you should do is:
1. Even out your skin tone with a tinted moisturizer
2. Apply a little bit of powder or bronzer on your forehead, cheeks, chin, and nose
3. Apply 1-2 coats of mascara
4. Apply a little bit of gloss

Then, for a night time effect:
1. Do the same as above
2. Apply a darker gloss or maybe a lipstick
3. Apply some blush on the apples of your cheeks
4. Apply an eyeshadow color to your lids only

This is a good way to break into using makeup every day. It is simple and quick and it wont make you feel like you have on too much makeup!

Just remember that what works for some...may not work for you and vice versa. It is definitely a trial by error process. Don't give up, just try something different.

I mostly use MAC makeup...but then again I'm the opposite of you. I have worn a lot of makeup over the years. And I love glamour, bright...crazy makeup.

I say start with your foundation. Follow the rules about oily, dry or combination skin. I suggest going to a makeup counter like Clinique or anything else to find out what foundation would work best for your skin. Ask weather you are a cool or warm tones. This will help provide you with a color palate that would work best for your skin tone. Then simply choose some shades off that palate for starters.

Hi, make up can be a lot of fun. If you have great skin then you want a very transparent make up. It can protect your skin from all the goo this world has to offer, not to mention the sun rays and all of that. My brands of make up depend on how much money I have in my wallet. If you have a little bit to spend go to the mall and invest in Lancome. They are very good. But your other department stores can offer great stuff with Max Factor and Revlon. Of course don't forget the Avon lady. One thing that is important. Most don't know this. Get rid of your make up every six months to a year. Because after that bacteria will cause the make up to be ...well not so good for you. Great luck. The natural look is in. Bring out what you already have.

If you have nice skin and you normally do not wear makeup then I'm assuming that you already look great - naturally. A lot of people would love waking up and stepping out of their home w/out having the trouble of applying makeup! Doing something different to your appearance could make you a little self-conscious, but that's normal and soon enough you'll get used to it.

If you really want to apply makeup to your face, I suggest the most natural way possible would be to wear lip gloss and mascara. In the evening, you might want to apply some blush/bronzer and a light eyeshadow, which depends on the color of your eyes and type of skin.

You can look up product reviews and makeup tips on www.ebeautyzone.com in the beauty community section. It might help you to find which makeup brand would be best for you.

I always moisterize (sp?) before I do any makeup work. And I like to do my makeup 2 or more hours before I go anywhere because then I let it settle and if some makeup smudges occur later on, I fix it, then I head out. I like to take time with my makeup and I dislike putting it on in a rush.

Also, it's best to do your makeup in natural bright sunlight. Or under bright lights.. that way you can see everything. Make sure you use a mirror that magnifies your face so you can work easier.

I also like to do my makeup lying in bed. It's comfortable :)

Oh and Clinique is the best way to go for acne purposes. They have a very clean makeup line that doesnt use alot of oily substances.

For a natural look, just use a face illuminator like "Wet n Wild Face Illuminator" or any bronzing, shimmer powder or foundation cream. Apply that to cheeks (sweeping up to temples), eyelids, and nose bridge. That should give a natural-glow look.

And if you always want to look natural, stick to warm tones like brown, gold, and anything close to that.

Have fun!

I started using Bare Minerals a couple of months ago and I fell in love with it. I also have used Clinique and other brands, but I will never go back to liquid makeup! Bare Minerals is easy and looks great & natural. It isn't too powdery or heavy feeling, either.

Depending on your skin type you want to choose a foundation that matches your skin type. If you have dry skin you may find an oil based makeup will help hydrate your skin. On the other hand if you have oily skin this could irrate it and cause break outs and you would want to search for a water based foundation. It is important to match the color of the makeup to your natural skin tone. The idea of wearing make up is to accentuate your natural beauty and mask your flaws. So, look at the inside of your forearm, if you find your skins undertones to be yellow, you will want to look for earthtones and makeup suited for olive skin types. If you have pink or red undertones you will want to choose colors suited for pale or ivory skin tones such as pastels, pink and mauve colors.

Then you can put some eyeshadow on put try putting on lightly first then add layers to build it up. then apply some blusher maby a pinky or light brown if your going out at day. i suggest that you try not to put mascra on or eyeliner until cormfurable with wearing and putting on make up xxx

Why wear it if you're comfy without? With all makeup the rule is "less is more" since to little is way better than too much! I only wear like foundation with UV protection, and lip gloss. I dont' like the over-madeup look I guess.
