The gauge only gets slightly above Cold and no farther... The blower seems fine, I dont' think anything is blocking the air, its just the air doesn't get hot only slightly warm.
I did bring it to a local garage and their response to me was "it was warm when it left here"
I thought maybe being that I am not the first owner of the car maybe it came from a warmer climate where it had an altogether different thermostat, and when the mechanic at the garage replaces it he simply replaced it with the same one he pulled out.
Being a woman and not knowing much in this area certainly isn't beneficial to me.
Thanks for all the replys at least now i have a few educuated possibilities to present.
Thanks everyone.

SOME mechanics bill for things they don't really do.
Are you certain he DID actualy replace the thermostat?
Did he give you the old one?
Does it apear as there was work done to the thermostat housing?

Sounds to me as the thermostat is stuck open allowing the coolant to constantly flow through the radiator. As opposed to being regulated by the thermostat.

Look at the engine where the upper radiator hose is attatched to the engine. That is the thermostat housing. Under that is the thermostat. If it does not apear to be removed recently, I'd say the mechanic did not replace the thermostat.

if temp gauge is only barely above cold sounds like a bad or stuck thermostat meaning it is stuck open not allowing fluids to get hot. What type of garage did you go to? Make sure the people that work on your car is smarter than you ...
