I hope technical guitar solos and leads come back to popular music again. But I doubt it will. What genre do I hope to become big? Nothing I listen too because that will be the death of it.

Well, Emo will probably be the next biggest thing (if it isn't already).
I am hoping that non-studio made rock will resurface though. I like to hear rock without any samples, mixes, etc.

Failing that, a proliferation of "all 70s & 90s rock" stations would do.

id like to see a new version or metallica emerge and possibly led zeppelin gettin back together with a good drummer not like that shower of s**t phil collins who drummed for them in live aid that was so damn embarrassing. even robert plant and jimmy wudnt let it be put on to the 20th anniversary special.

I don't really cares who is big though, but I'd like to hear some new stuff like Nickleback, or new Metallica.
