Even when I push the menu and select button combination it does not work. I also turn on and off the hold button but when i turn off the hold button, it still acts as if its on hold and it locks and my songs dont play at all and the wheel also doesnt work. The only thing i see is the name of the last song i listened too on a dark screen. I know that you can not restart and ipod with the hold button on but even when i turn it off i cant restart it because the ipod is still somehow on lock. Please help me out. Should i just go to a repair store. I cant take it back to where it's originally from because it was bought from a store in vegas..not where im from.

That's happened several times with my 5th Gen. Video. Usually I just wait a couple of hours for it so shut off by itself/run out of battery, then plug it up.
Or you could just try to connect it to your computer. That might work =]

If you have an Apple power adaptor to charge it (I actually just read the wall adaptor from Apple is what to use, not a docking station or the computer). Try plugging it in there and do the Hold-switch reset. Try it a few times. If that doesn't work, try downloading the latest iPod software from Apple, then plugging it into the computer. If that doesn't work, go to or call Apple tech support. I've also posted a link below.

I don't have and Ipod, but is there a reset button on it usually something you have to use a pen to poke it with. Maybe turn it off and leave it for a bit for it to reset itself - sorta like a computer reboot.

Anyone else ????
