Are you asking how long it could be before you go into labor because your baby is in the "right" position? Sorry to break it to you (I know I would have cried if someone said this to me then, even though I knew it then), but it could be another 5 weeks before you give birth.

Average gestation for first-time moms (I'm assuming this is your first) is 41 weeks + 3 days. That's AVERAGE, meaning plenty of women go to 42 or even 43 weeks before birthing. In some places in Europe (France, for instance), a woman isn't even considered "due" until 42 weeks. Drs. in the U.S. (again with the assumption that you're in the U.S.) will start to talk induction at 39 or 40 weeks, but it's not necessary. Babies produce a hormone when they're ready to come out; that hormone tells the mother's body to go into labor, and nothing short of potentially dangerous chemicals will change that.

Rest as much as your growing body and bladder will let you, and remember that no one has ever been pregnant forever.

As an Rn, let me assure you that all is well with your pregnancy. Babies usually come at about 40 weeks, though some get a little impatient and want out in 37 weeks...LOL Right now your baby is kind of in a holding pattern until your uterus and cervix are ripe for birth. You could start labor any day now. However, dont be too alarmed if you go a little over your 40 weeks. Your OB/GYN can advise you on how much longer you should wait before inducing labor if you go over your due date. For right now, enjoy you r last few weeks of pregnancy and getting ready to welcome the bundle of joy that is growing inside of you. Best wishes for a safe and happy delivery!!! Fred, RN

I wouldnt start to try to bring on labor for at least another week. You really do want to try to make it to 40 weeks... and At Least 38! I know its getting really old really quick and you want nothing more than to get that baby out. But you want a healthy baby and to be able to take it home with you Right away.

There is no real answer for this. Your baby will come when it is ready. Just being in position doesn't imply imminent delivery.

It could be tomorrow, or it could be in 3 weeks. When you start to feel contractions, you will know. They may feel like cramps at first, but then they start to get pretty regular.

Not too long, although you don't want to rush this. The baby puts most of its weight on in the last month. Their immunities also continue to build during this time.

Any Day Now!!!! Good Luck!!!!!
