Try to avoid using medications from the store. Those are chemicals and they are really harsh on the fish ,and they kill all your good bacteria and dye everything in your tank blue.

A much better treatment is salt. It kills the ich parasite just as effectively as the meds, without harming your fish or biological system.
First, do a large water change to remove some of the parasites. About 50% is a good amount.

Add 1 flat tablespoon of aquarium salt per 5 gallons of water to your tank, disolve the salt first in a cup of tank water. Keep this salt concentration for 2 weeks, and you increase the temp to 80-81F to speed it along. At the end of the 2 weeks, you can resume doing 30% weekly water changes and eventually you'll remove all traces of salt. :)

There are tablets that you put in the tank that will clear that up, both in the water and on the fish. Once you are sure it is gone, I would just empty it out and start over.
