Good place to take the kids in the winter months?

My kids have a few half days. we meet up with friends and go out for the day. we have run out of ideas on where to go. Any one know of some good places please let me know. My kids go to clawson schools and we live in Sterling Heights or any where around here would be great. thank you

Come to Canada during your kids vacation time. Lots to do, skiing, snowboarding, beautiful train rides through the Rockies, lots of arts and culture. And the fact that the Canadian dollar is low you'll get a bigger bang for your buck.
