Society has made it that way! If you look at history, black men have never had power, so imagine when you, are to be head of household, are making less than your mate, kinda takes a stab @ your self esteem.

Stop stereotyping. I'm a black man my fiance' makes more. Doesn't make me feel intimidated. For awhile, I carried us and now she finished school got a good job and she makes more (and not by a whole lot because I've been making good money). It all goes to the same pot of funds. If you are running into that problem you are meeting men with low self-esteem.

Actually, it is likely men in general feel that way. I think it is crazy, but friends of mine feel that way as well. I could care less. If I meet, say a doctor, or whatever, she will definitely make more money than me. Who cares. But, some have a complex about that sort of thing.

You know, I would quit my job and stay home if I married a woman who maid a lot of money. My kids friends would be asking why their Dad always has a boat behind his truck when they get dropped off and picked up from school. I wouldn't be home cleaning, cause if she makes that much, we would have a maid.

Hmm, seems I am in search of a "sugar mama". Hello ladies, I am single, house broken, and willing to relocate!!lol

Why have you limited this conversation to Black men? Men in general feel intimidated when women earn more money than they do, so stop trying to turn this into a racial issue.

It is not obly black men that feel this way some white men do too.... It is natural for a man to be the breadwinner so that is usually why they feel this way and they want to feel that they are taking care of their wife and kids and the wife usually takes care of the kids and the home and she is there for him when he gets home. This is really only natural feelings.

If you must stereotype, limit it to men in general. Not only black men act this way.

I think it is most men that feel that way... because i have that problem.... it is because they want to be the ones that are more successful so that you can depend on them and that way they can feel more secure of you.
