What do I need for my laptop to be set up for internet?

We have a Broadband connection already for our desktop comp. But I got a laptop for x-mas and need to know what I need to set it up for the net. Right now I seem to be picking up a connection from next door, But I need to know what to do to set it up on my own so that it will be secure..

Set up your laptop on a home network. Go to my network places on yur home computer and set it up then have your laptop find it. Use a firewall to protect yourself form others close by.

looks like ur laptop has a inbuilt wireless card so thats good. all u need is a wireless router. let me know if u need more help
