Yes, it annoying, although easily resolved. However, the reason why somebody would want to send an uninvited IM to a total stranger remain a mystery to me.
I suppose they are lonely? I guess some people must answer those unsolicited IMs now and again.
Some of them are probably selling something, I would imagine. A few I have had have vaguely suggestive IDs, like sexygirl19 sort of thing.

Yes and it is very annoying. Especially if you are trying to chat to real people in a chat room and you have all these bots or perves IMing you. Yahoo's chat is getting to be so full of them. I hate it

very annoying, but at least you don't those who say nasty things too, and then if you don't answer they get really upset,
I hate them all, but still I try to talk to people that I dont know, but is very hard to find a normals ones

I thought the whole concept of is people from around the world meeting in a neutral atmosphere. If you don't want to be contacted, don't allow people to IM you.

I've had that problem from the same person for months now. All I do is ignore him. He still keeps it up. You'd think he'd get the hint by now.

When that happens I iggy them and repart them as spam.When I ask ASL It mean I want to know who and what Im talking to.
