I think that you will find 300w MAY run this card, but I'd feel a lot more comfortable if you were running a 500w instead. I did quite a bit of research, and nowhere did I find the average or max power draw for this card. The closest that I came was one site that said that the 1950 uses "up to 60w less power" than the 1900. That makes me nervous-I'm thinking that this beast may use up to 125w; maybe even more at max load. I really wouldn't trust any power supply that my video card alone could draw over 1/3 the available power. The other side of the coin is: you are talking about a $200+ video card. Shouldn't you be willing to pony up an additional $50 as a little insurance?

Oh yeah 300 W is too little for the x1950 Pro.

Don't buy anything less than 450W.

You should consider anything over 400W.
Remember every component you have installed uses power (CPU, RAM, HDD, CD\DVD drives...)

Depending on how much hardware you have 300W might not be enough to even boot up.
