Congratulations and good luck! I had mine Feb 20, 2006 and loved it.

Being nervous/anxious is fine and normal, just take deep breaths and any concerns you have talk to your doctor about it!

I don't know what all you've looked at with surgery and recovery, but relax and REST!!

http://www.breasthealthonline.com really helped me out with my anxiety and concerns. Go ahead register and check it out!

I will be having a reduction next monday (the 31st). There are several reasons I decided to have the surgery. 1) I was a DD at 12, G at 18, and now a J at 42. 2) I've lost alot of weight and my cup size hasn't changed (my breasts are very dense, with little to no fatty tissue, so no matter how much weight I lose, they won't change) 3) PAIN!! Shoulder dents from the straps, upper back pain and neck pain (I have degenerating discs in my neck now from the excess weight). What you should remember is that no-one but you can know exactly how you feel, so take their words with a grain of salt - if you will feel better about yourself, then I say Go For It! Regarding the scars, who cares if you have them or not. Only you and your Significant Other will be seeing them if they aren't pretty and if your SO doesn't like them, then that person isn't worth your time or effort. If someone loves you, they should love all of you, not just the pretty parts! Do some research, talk to your primary dr who can refer you to a plastic surgeon, then talk to the surgeon who can help you make an informed decision. Good Luck!

Dont worry, if it helps you out. I have had over 30 surgeries. And what works best for me, every time i go under i take my mind off of the procedure and think of random things. Yes it is very nerve racking. So, ask your doctor before you get the anesthesia to give you something that will relax you. I once asked my doctor for something and he gave me morphine and it helped out tons. Good luck with the surgery and i wanna tell you that everything will be okay for you I promise.

Then this is your "mountain" or "dragon." We all have our obstacles to overcome. So, I bet you are doing a bunch of searches on the net, talking to people about it, and thinking of it constantly. Does it help to hear people say it's okay or you will be fine? I bet it helps a little, but after a while, you are worrying all over again. It probably does no good for someone to tell you to get your mind off of it.

So, if you are going to think about it. Think of why you have this fear. Then address each of those fears, and see if they are really valid or not. A lot of times they are not. Learn some breathing techniques for relaxation.

But really, this is one of those things you will be scared about and you just have to take the plunge and get it over and done with fears and all. It's called courage.

hey hun, i know that this doesnt really relate to you that much, but maybe it will make you feel better. i am 37 weeks pregnant, and my baby is breech, so in two weeks i have to go in to get a C-section. i too am very very nervous, and i have never had surgery before in my life. im scared and i keep hoping that everything is going to go alright. but i am sure that everything will be okay. I am sure that everything will be okay with you too.
tons of people get surgery every day and they are okay. there is some people that have to go in like so many times a year to get surgery for something that might be wrong with them. just think about that.
and to try to relax you, dont think about it. just know that everything will be okay, try reading a book to get your mind off of it, or go do something that you enjoy like shopping or something. buy yourself something new. that always makes someone feel better.

Breast Reduction Surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

You'll be knocked out, so you will be fine! And once you are healed, you will feel great and happier with yourself and your body.
