Vegas hotel rates change sometimes based on the conventions that are in town. I checked quickly and when you're going there are lots of conventions going on (two HUGE ones). One is Networld+interop which expects 20,000 people and another is "international council on shopping centers" with 45,000 people. There are others too. Usually the hotels raise the rates when they are expecting tons of guests.
If you want to check the convention calendar for any time in Las Vegas, you can use this link: http://www.lvcva.com/meetings/convention-calendar.jsp

There are a number of things that could be affecting the price. There might be a few big conventions running or it could just be "that time of the year."

I hope you have a great time!

Are they more expensive than normal? Places like MGM, Billagio are typically in the $200+/night range.

Check out tripadvisor.com.
