I assuming since you said stick with X2, you currently have an AMD motherboard, hence the Core 2 Duos are not in play for you, though like everyone said they are better. But if you are looking for AMD I would say yes to the FX-62 only if you plan to overclock, otherwise it is not worth the money. The FX-62 is great for overclocking because of its unlocked multiplier, but if you don't overclock, not worth the money.

FX-62 is better but if you got the money. .
If you want a dual core cpu buy intel core 2 duo.(better than athlon x2)

Nope , right now the only chip you should buy is the Intel Core 2 Duo--> Destroys the AMD chip.
