I know what you mean. Although hate is a little strong, I really don't care for mine either. We too used to be good friends, she moved to the bay area, and now thinks she is better. I know she talks behind my back, but when confronted, says she never said anything. For me, I've been dealing with her attitude for the past five years. I've stayed away and kept quiet. For me, I feel it's only a matter of time until I knock her on her a**. Sorry I know this doesn't help, I just wanted to let you know that sometimes all the ignoring, keeping quiet, trying to communicate, & being nice regardless, just doesn't work! Good luck with your situation.

Talk to her. The worst thing you can do is avoiding the issue and being hard on yourself about what you may have done or what she thinks you did without you even knowing. Don't be confrontational with her just rational and factual and find out why you are being treated this way. May be it's all just a big misunderstanding. Don't beat up yourself for it and don't take any sh.....t either. If you were best friends it's worth asking her about her reasons why she doesn't feel that way any more.
This is also important for you and your sense of self-worth. If you believe you don't deserve this treatment (and I believe you) then you need to take action and clear the air, at the very least. No one deserves to be ignored; especially you.

Uh, ignore her. I HAD a best friend who was seeing a guy and planning to marry him and I told her how I felt about it (negative) and she hasnt been the same with me since. She married him and she and I are like strangers now. Me being me, I said f*ck it, and f*ck her. Move on with your life and pay your inlaw no attention.

keep your distance from her even though you live next door to each other. ignore her when you see her. if she has already stopped talking to you, this should be easy. don't let her get to you, or ruin your day, if you do, then she wins. don't do that to yourself.

i know its hard. Try being direct and asking her if there is anything you can do to rectify the situation, only if the friendship is worth it to you.
