Is it Kyuuketsuki or Shinsen-Subs?

I have had better experience with Shinsen-Subs, since they normally use good fonts and from what I have seen they stay close to the original japanese meanings of words, so they don't mess up you're whole story... plus they have access to really good RAWs (video files) so the quality of video tends to be better... I watched the whole Samurai Champloo series as well as Full Metal Alchemist and Chrno Crusade: Zero (movie).... they were all good quality and pretty well done, so I repeat my recommendation of them...

Peace!

It all depends on what you base your comparison. Shinsen has it is true more experience than Kyuu ( less than one year if I'm correct ). Nevertheless for me the 2 are ok. Although on hack Roots the translations aren't that good ( Shinsen worked on them )? And it is difficult to compare 2 groups that don't have a commun project.

Among the anime community, Shinsen isn't really like, because they are considered a vulture group. They picked series in the middle although the group that work on it from the start is still on it. That's not really nice for the other groups ( Erementar Gerad and Prince of Tennis are exemples ). They also have far too many projects : more than 20. As a result there are lots of delays. I know it is free but with less projects they would more effective. And these few months they've been dropping a few projects because they can't follow ( xxxHOLic, 2 Hearts, Guns & Swords ).

Kyuu has only 3 or 4 projects and managed to delivered episodes on a weekly basis. Thus I don't have to wait weeks to see whats happening. With Shinsen only the more popular project have a weekly release. For the others you have to wait for batches : hack Roots for instance 9 Eps in one day. And some project have gone dead for months : Ergo Proxy, Chevallier.

I like the 2 groups. When there is a new serie I wait to see who is subbibg it. If there is Shinsen then I'll wait for another group if any. If the other is good then I'll choose the other one. I don't want to wait half a year to see the end of the anime.
