Digestion begins in the mouth with ptalin (an enzyme) which is basic (alkaline) in nature. The stomach is filled with acid. When acid and alkali come into contact with each other a chemical reasction takes place which causes gas to be formed (the fizzy you describe).
You need to see a doctor as you should not be getting reflux which causes this to happen. You can self treat with antacids but you need a medical once over before you do to rule out disease processes;

go see a doctor, theres a simple blood test for ulcers, but maybe you have a weak oesophagus muscle that allows reflux of stomach contents? is this new, or an ongoing problem? if its new..anything new in your diet?

You might have acid reflux acid from your stomach rises up into your mouth,. go and see your doctor to get it checked out more thoroughly
