John & Mary have been married for 5 happy years. They’ve been so happy in those 5 years. Mary had been so trusting & never questioned John’s where about. She never had any reason to doubt him. Four years in their marriage, John met Betty & they fell in love.
During John’s so called “weekend work trips” Mary called John but his phone was off & that got her worried. John’s phone was never off. If ever it was, he will tell Mary or make arrangements of being reached.
When she couldn’t get hold of him, she called the hotel where John was staying. When they told her that they only saw him in the morning she got more worried.
Mary then called John’s boss & was told that since John started work with them, he had never gone out for any kind of trip. To cut the long story short, John & Mary divorced.

John had never planned to leave his wife for Betty & Betty knew that. She was ok with that. But after the divorce Betty wanted John to Mary her but he said he can’t though he loved her so much.
John tried to explain to her that it will not work out. Said their relationship was based on lies & that meant there will always be doubt & suspicion. He says she will always be suspicious of anything he says or does & he can’t live with that.
This to me makes sense & my tusk is to explain this to her but I can’t seem to make her understand. She things John doesn’t love her anymore. In fact she things he had never loved her

Not to sound rude, but someone needs to smack Betty and give her a wake up call. This is not Lifetime TV where you cheat with a man and then he marries you after divorcing his wife. If it was okay with her for him to have this relationship on the side while lying to his wife then it should have stayed that way. It is obvious in the back of her mind that she secretly wanted him to leave his wife and took the " I will take him anyway I can have him" approach. If in fact she was okay, then it wouldnt be a big deal to her that he does not want to marry her.

Also she set herself up. You were both lying so why would he want to marry you. I hate to sound harsh but he does not view you as wife material - if he did he would have never been having an affair on the side with you.

I know this is a harsh reality check for some, but women need it. Betty allowed herself to be treated this way. If she truly wanted marriage from John in the first place, then she should have respected the union he was in. If they got divorced later on, then Betty and John could date, get to know one another and start their relationship on a strong foundation. Betty needs to realize that her initial relationship with John was founded on sexual desire.

Betty also needs to think, if he did it to Mary - why wouldnt he do it to you? Whats so different?

well..John didn't honor his marriage vow's with Mary, so why would he with Betty? I think John is right in saying that they shouldn't get married, if he did it to Mary, he certainly will do it to Betty. I think John needs to work on himself before he can be a good husband to anyone. Betty shouldn't try to pressure him, because that will only make things worse. Good luck; John, Mary, and Betty..whoever you are!

p.s. what kind of woman is this Betty anyway? She steals away a married man, he gets a divorce and then she tries to force him into marriage again? Let's see if and when John gets married to her..how quick he deals Betty the same cards, wonder how she'll feel. what goes around comes around sweetheart.

Often times once someone cheats they will cheat again. If Betty did marry John he’d probably ended up cheating on her. Of course it would have served her right get a taste of her own medicine.

I don´t feel any sympathy for a woman who gets involved with a married man. She is a marriage wrecker and she just got what she deserved when John does not want to marry her

John is an idiot. He is a cheater and a liar. No woman can ever trust his butt again. John should just give up on marriage.

Like 'Cool Hand Luke'... "some men you just can't reach."
Let it go. Who really cares if she thinks he never loved her. It seems apparent that no one will change her mind.
