Loyalty is nice and respectable, but unless it puts $$$$ in the bank it is practically useless.
If your boss could find some one to work for less then he probably would not give a second thought to replacing half his staff.
In business it is the bottom line that matters. Look out for yourself!!!

You should have no loyalty for an employer whatsoever. I can assure you, they wouldnt think twice about laying you off.

They use you and throw you away, and you should show them the same level of understanding. Use them for what you can get, and move on to something better.

Unless you are unionized, more hours is important if you need the money. Just be sure that you aren't giving up some nice flexibility your current employer has been giving you.

If you are unionized, then make sure you are going to another union shop, or you are losing your time.

when it comes down to it, they don't have loyalty to you, definately not at the level you have for them.

it comes down to survival and $$$

i'd say to take the additional hours

tell your employer you may have to leave for another store as they can offer more hours, that you dont want to leave but may have to, they may up your hours if they want to keep you :)
