You can use any name for any gender. It's not stated anywhere that certain names are for certain genders, you'll just have to deal with that person being teased all their life because a lot of people won't like to accept the fact that a guy has a mostly female name. I personally wouldn't use it for a guy, but have at it!

Kaitlyn is a combination of Kate (Katherine) and Lynn. I'd say it's more of a female name.

Many names that parents come up with might sound catchy or clever to you, but remember kids are cruel. Give a baby boy a name that sound girlish to some, and you're giving him a heavy load to carry for the rest of his life. DON"T DO IT .

I suppose so, though he's likely to develop an affinity for women's clothing and a good cabaret, he'll have a guy "roommate" instead of a girlfriend, and he will be more than happy to help you decorate your house.

Some very masculine guys have girl names. Leslie was my grandfather's name and he was a linebacker. No one messed with him!

Yes, but I don't suggest that, because as he grows older, the other kids won't accept that, and he will get teased.
But, in the end, it is your choice, and I suggest you stick with the name you feel is right.

Yes, if you wanted to, you can name your kid anything you want, but he will grow up to hate you. My birth parents gave me the name Zeus for my middle name, I hate it.
