Never been pregnant before. I took two at home preg tests, different brands both said positive. The next day I took another one. Postive. A couple days later I started cramping and bleeding slightly like I was starting my period. The next day I called the Nurse Online and I had to get a blood preg test. Was positive, the doc said I am about 5 - 7 weeks preg. Makes me sad cuz I drank on Newyears :( And a couple days later. Bleeding is like a (don't mean to be gross) dark and light brown color. I have another test tomorrow to test a level of hormone. If is higher then it's good if it's lower, i could be mis-carrying. I feel positively guilty about drinking now that i know i'm preg. I was not expecting it at all. I am very happy and excited but worried something's wrong. Could it be because I drank like 2-3 weeks ago? I also heard i'm not supposed to scoop cat litter and I had been. I had cleaned house(majorly)yesterday before the doc called. Just wondering what normal help?

Sounds like everything is fine to me. Drinking that early in pregnancy is not likely to cause any problems (I went on a total bender the weekend before I found out I was pregnant with my son!)

Also, bleeding a little can be normal, and as long as it is not bright red blood you should be fine. Don't let the number on the HCG blood test scare you either. Early HCG numbers very by thousands. In blood tests, it is not the individual number, but the rate at which that number doubles that tells you how healthy the pregnancy is. Good luck and don't worry, sounds like all is well.

Congratulations!

The two weeks between conception and implantation are a get out of jail free card in terms of affecting the baby. In fact, the no alcohol business is really controversial. Most European women are told to have one glass of wine or beer every evening while they are pregnant to help them relax, digest and sleep. There is nothing for you to feel guilty about no matter what happens.

Miscarriage is very, very common and it is usually caused by chromosmal disorders. In other words, the genetic information in the egg or sperm is inadequate for supporting life. It does not mean that all your eggs or all your partners sperm are defective. It means that this particular one, out of hundreds of millions, didn't work.

It sucks to have a miscarriage, but up to 20% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage. Of that figure, most are in the first six to eight weeks of pregnancy. If there is good news, it is that having a miscarriage does not mean that you can't or won't have a healthy full-term baby later. If anything it gives you time to make lifestyle and maturity changes that will make you a better parent when it happens.

I have two children and have had two miscarriages and I consider my reproductive health to be pretty good.

I hope that one day you are as happy with your children as I am with mine.

It's normal for some women to bleed in the first trimester. I'd say around 25% of women experience some bleeding early in the pregnancy. This could be due to the egg implanting itself. In some cases it's a sign of a miscarriage, but it is too early to determine that and that does not mean there is something wrong with you. Bleeding LATE in a pregancy is a bad sign.

A few drinks that early in your first trimester shouldn't have any negative effect on your embryo. Don't feel guilty for that.

Follow through with your OB/GYN.
Best of luck

Im on my third child, and things like this happen all the time. Soooo DONT feel guilty at all!!! You didnt know you were pregnant and things will be just fine!!! I did the exact same thing with both my boys and then found out i was pregnant when i was 11 weeks lol thats alot longer that 5-7 weeks. Your baby will be fine!!! and if you have had cats before, you are usually immune to the stuff you can catch from it. So from now on you know your pregnant, just start over :) ENJOY :)

The same thing happened to me with my first child. I drank on New Year's and found out that I was pregnant on January 15th. I started spotting a week later. Spotting light brown is normal. If it starts becoming a brighter red, then you need to get a little worried. Try not to worry too much because that will make things worse. Good Luck, let us know how things turn out!!

you're mis-recommended . . . Gen.4:16: And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt interior the land of Nod, . . :17: And Cain knew (had sex with) his spouse; - so Cain already had a spouse further . . . 4:26: And to Seth, to him also there became born a son; - no factor out of the delivery of Seth's spouse finally . . . 5:a million: that is the e book of the generations of Adam . . .And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his photo; and called his call Seth - no factor out of Cain or Abel even! end: the delivery of all toddlers isn't suggested, yet inferred. considering God gave mankind a sex force and stated that is not good to be on my own yet to have a help-meet, it would want to be advise no longer to grant.

I would try not to worry to much, the drinking on new years should not be to much of a problem, it's more when it's a daily thing, you didn't know so don't feel guilty. As for the bleeding it could be a number of things. just sit back and try to relax and not stress since that's not good for the baby. I hope you results are good

Drinking on new years didnt effect your baby at all. He doesnt even have a cord or placenta functioning yet. He's completely functional on his yolk sac, and doesnt share anything with your body until about 8-10 weeks gestation.

Spotting is normal. Brown is normal. Red is normal. Bleeding is not okay, especially with clots. But spotting is perfectly fine. Tons of women spot when pregnant.

Relax.

If you feel cramping and bleeding I would go to the ER because especially bleeding for a little bit like that is bad. I started bleeding during the 12th week with both my 1st and 2nd boys but the bleeding was only a lot one time when I went to the bathroom and then it stopped. I still went to the doctor for ultrasounds both times and they said I was fine but just to get bed rest. go to the er or wait for a doctor's appointment tomorrow when you go, but just lay down and rest. don't do any big activities.
