I have heard that vitamins and minerals are absorbed better when taken with food. I usually hear that when I'm in health food stores. That and some vitamins cause some mild nausea when taken alone.

I'll try to get you a link... Let me see if I can find one.

ETA: Okay, I found a link. Actually, I found serveral, but they all had about ten paragraphs of other information pertaining to vitamins. So, I just thought you wouldn't have to wade through all of that to get to what you specifically wanted...

If it is a coated multi vitamin it is probably OK but depends on your stomach. We are all different. I take several vitamins and most say take with food. Best bet, Read the label. or if it bothers your empty stomach just take it with food.

Yes you can, but its always best to take any kind of pills with a little bit of food in your system or a lot of water. It just helps digest it if you have some food in your system. Try eating it with a small granolla bar or some healthy fruit.

sure you can - there's no medical reason why you wouldn't be able to or shouldn't. however, a lot of them make you feel sick if you take them on an empty stomach! I take berocca each morning on an empty stomaach and that's fine, but there are certain brands (perhaps the ones with ginseng in them) that I wouldn't take empty-stomach

You should take them with meals so they work better with the nutrients in your food. Also if you take them on an empty stomach they could make you nauseous.
