I have A Bachelor's Degree in Eng Lit(3 yrs) but I am told most US B schools require 16 years of education. Can anybody help?

They don't count years -- they look at the degree. Since you have a BA, your degree should not be a problem.

Other factors -- like work experience, test scores and GPA will still matter, of course.

At the top US B-schools, about 30% of the students are foreign. They have a lot of experience dealing with the qualifications of non US citizens. If you have more questions, you should contact the admissions offices of schools that interest you.

As long as you have a high school diploma most US schools will accept you if you meet their admissions standards. If you have a Bachelor's degree then you will be accepted for a second Bachelors or a Masters degree as long as you meet their admissions standards. You should contact an admissions counselor at the university you are interested in attending. You won't really know anything without talking to them about your specific situation.
