I sometimes feel that my relationship with God could sometimes be stronger. I have accepted Christ as my savior and know what is right and what is wrong. However, I stuggle with the everyday problems that make me feel "un-christian like". Is there anyone who can give me advice on how to improve my relationship with God. Serious answers only please

speak with your pastor/preacher about this as he/she will be able to give you some pretty good advice. Or if you feel that you are doing things that are wrong, pray or even read from the bible. But remember to live what you preach... hypocrites are the worst!

Tune out other peoples opinions. Many people try and play the Holy Spirit trying to guide you. For me it only confused me because I would constantly wonder if it was God showing me or other people's opinion. Sometimes they can be a guidance or a confirmation; but usually it is meddling people wanting you to do what they think you should. They want you to be where they are in their walk, but maybe God is trying to show you something you won't see by taking their path. Pray for God to just guide you and show you and learn to hear what he wants. Learn from your hardships and everyday experiences. One day it will all click and it will be like a syncorinicity. Also don't let yourself be negative, complacent, critical or judgmental. There is a difference between
judging and being judgmental. God wants us to learn wisdom and discernment.
God is not religous ritual; look for His spiritual walk. As they say think outside the box. Don't follow the world or people that go against the convictions God puts in your heart.

1 kings 19:11-
11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake: 12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. 13 And it was so,

It took me 30 years to feel like I am finally getting there and still working at it.

LOL I don't know how we got to men's heatlh. Ironically it is appropriate place since you are concerned about your spiritual health

YOU MAY NOT BE SAVED YET BECAUSE i DONT BELIEVE A 6 YEAR OLD CAN BE SAVED! You have to be a little bit older to understand what your accepting and what your believing in. That's probably the reason your having a hard time now, you need to accept Jesus Christ as your savior, and REPENT of all your sins. The second part of that is very important which you mentioning temptations and evil thoughts makes me more convinced your not saved yet. Repenting is TRUE SORROW, regret, and pain over ones sins and humanity. Than once you feel that pain and accept Jesus finished work on the cross, the spirit of God will come into you and everything will take on a whole new meaning! Prayer, worship, church, The Bible, singing the songs, and than ministry work (witnessing, missions, working in the church, visitation, etc). Serving God will become your number one priority and the sins and temptations will become much less and easier to resist!

Study the bible every day, and pray four others and your self daily, start with 15 minuets a day then increase your time, I have done this my self, now I spend two to three hours or more a day. The struggles will still be there as it is part of growth and the christian walk with Jesus wou need to study and pray to know who you are in Jesus Christ. find a good bible based church if you dont have one, and always verify what is said with the bible trust in God And His Word and you can not loose, and follow the first two commandments and every thing will fall in to place, God Bless You And Your Family And All That You Have On Loan From Him.

As christians we all struggle with this problem, after all we are only human. I would suggest the basics, get plugged into a church group that you feel comfortable with, you need fellow christians to help you through times that you will be tempted into sinfull situations, it's helpfull to find people that will be willing to be helpful and not judgmental, so I would recommend searching several different churches for your specific demographic. I used to try to go at it alone but found that I strayed further from God so christian friends are a must for building a relationship with God. I pray that God will help you in your search.

You came to the right place my friend. First of all you need to recognize that what you are doing to make you feel "unchristian" . Then you need to turn away from whatever you are doing wrong. We all make mistakes and sometimes feel that way. That is why Jesus Christ died for us. So, that we may repent of our sins and be whole in him again as a little child. Try humbling yourself as a little child would do. I notice when i was teaching primary (sunday school). The children were very close to our Heavenly Father, & there testimonies were as strong as mine. I thank God for that experience. It made me humble and more focused on what is really important in life.

Most important is Bible study (not just reading it, know what it means), love (of God and man), prayer, obedience to God's Word, and worship with fellow Christians. I could really improve on these things myself.

Also, you might sign up for the Daily E-mail Devotions on Brasstacks.

I have heard Gary Henry speak on Diligently Seeking God. He was really inspirational to me. His Daily Devotionals are great to read the first thing in the morning when I get to work.

5 suggestions: by James E Faust
First, a daily communion involving prayer. A fervent, sincere prayer is a two-way communication. As we pray, we should think of our Heavenly Father as being close by; full of knowledge, understanding, love, and compassion; the essence of power; and having great expectations of each of us.

Second, a daily selfless service to another. The followers of the divine Christ have to be weighed on the scales of what their actions are rather than on solemn professions of belief. The true measure is found in Matthew: “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these … , ye have done it unto me” (Matt. 25:40). A wise man observed, “The man who lives by himself and for himself is apt to be corrupted by the company he keeps” (Charles Henry Parkhurst, quoted in The International Dictionary of Thoughts [1969], 659).

Third, a daily striving for an increased obedience and perfection in our lives. Because of the perfect Atonement of Jesus, we may be made perfect.

Fourth, a daily acknowledgment of His divinity. To have a daily, personal relationship with the Master, we must be His disciples.

Fifth, a daily study of the scriptures. “I find that when I get casual in my relationships with divinity and when it seems that no divine ear is listening and no divine voice is speaking, that I am far, far away. If I immerse myself in the scriptures the distance narrows and the spirituality returns” (The Teachings of Spencer W. Kimball,).
Hope this is helpful!

If you belong to a church go talk to the Pastor he'll give you some guidence. If you don't belong to a church, then go to a different church every time and seek out the one that benifits you the most. Keep reading the Bible, and I also recremend the book A Purpose Driven Life it did wonders for me.
Good Luck and GOD BLESS

Reading is the best for altering your mindset. The Bible, Christian books, anything positive. A good book to read is "How To Win Friends and Influence People". It's more of a self-help book, but I've learned so much how to be a good friend, listener, servant, leader, and positive role model.

Serving others is also super important in humbling yourself and getting closer to God.

And, of course, PRAYER. Pour your heart out and rely on Him.

Remember you're human, and we will always continually seek to be closer to Him.
