It may seem hard at first, but it's not as hard as everyone is making it seem like it is. All it takes is a little patience, and once you get the hang of it, it's easy!! Liquid eyeliner was the first type of eyeline I ever used and I love it. Here are some tips on making your application a little bit easier.

-Since you are just starting out with liquid eyeliner, you should grab a mirror, put it infront of you on a still surface and SIT DOWN! Standing up while putting on your eyeliner can increase your chances of making a mistake!

-Once you've got you're mirror in place, it's time to start the eyeliner! Dip your brush/applicator in the liquid eyeliner. With your other hand, take your pointer finger to the outside corner of your eye and slightly hold it down. This makes application alot easier.

-I personally raise my eyebrow of the eye that I am putting my eyeliner on because it helps me to get my line straighter and closer to my lashline!!

-Start to apply the eyeliner from the inside corner of your eye. Take your time, and if you need more eyeliner, stop, dip your brush/applicator again, and start where you left off!

-Once you've finished the top lid of one eye, use these steps to repeat on the other eye! I use liquid eyeliner on my bottom lid too, so if you want to, just use the reamaining eyeliner from your brush/applicator and rub it on your bottom lids starting from the inside.

And that's it!! Your eyeliner should look great! I hope these steps helped you! Good luck!!

I have used liquid eyeliner for over ten years and now I can put it on as fast as solid eyeliner.

The other tips people are giving are good. Also, the pen kind is much easier to control than the brush kind. I personally prefer Almay's I-liner.

A mistake first-timer's often make is that they try to line the eye using the very tip of the pen. But the easiest way to get it done quickly and without getting it all over is to actually hold the pen nearly horizontal to your eye, start at the inner corner, and lay it down on the lash line (before mascara). Trying to use the very tip will take you forever and the line will be everywhere. If you lay down the whole side of the pen, then you do that only about four times to cover the entire lashline until you get to the outer corner, then you use the tip of the pen to create the kind of "wing" you're going for - the flip up at the end.

If you want a natural look, don`t use liquid eyeliner. I`m an expert at applying pencil eyeliner because its very easy to master. With liquid, if you don`t get it perfect every time, you have to start over, and its really annoying. Use a chocolate brown eyeliner, because this will give you a natural look. Also use blush to complement the brown eyeliner! Hope I helped!

If u are new at the whole eyeliner thing- I would start with a good soft pencil ( not too soft, because it may just smear on too easily, u wanna have control of the thin line you are drawing)
I assume you are talking about the top of the eyelid? If so, I usually with my finger pull at the outer corner of my eye outward ( not tooo taught..u may have wringles earlier in life if u do) it straightens my eyelid in preperation for drawing it slowly from the inside-( where ever on the inside you want it to start- what ever looks good on your eyes- experiment) -outward. That has always helped me!
Now liquid IS obviously always more tricky!! But same principal. I would recomend getting the tip that is pointed to a tip and made of felt, NOT A BRUSH!
Those are impossible..
But you should always (like mascarra) scrape of the excess around the felt tip- to where you dont see any eyeliner just gooping off- trust me theres enouph to draw that thin line, and all your doing anyway is using the VERY tip.
And also, with liquid, I myself never just draw it in one swipe or line! I take my quarter of an inch sweet time..lol- no, more like a dot at a time, seriously!!
Anyway, liquid seems to show up darker and pop out more, so you really only wanna use it at night when u go out.
Hope this helps.

I can't seem to get it right either. My mom's a wizard at it but I thought all I have to do is keep it straight. So I got some tape and put it where I wanted the eyeliner tried my best to keep it straight. After I finished I pulled off the tape and walla a straight line of eye liner. You should try it. I think pencil eyeliner would be best.

I am not very good at it....but if I am going for the liquid look, I first apply my translucent powder to the whole eye area. Then I apply a light amount of my crayon eyeliner. I use a cotton swab to make the line straight. I then go over the eyeliner with the liquid eyeliner. If I need to fix any spots I just use a swab. The powder helps to remove any excess eyeliner.

Ok, there are 3 diferent kinds of eyeliner;
-Kohl: This one it's a speacial powder (originally black). Was the first that existed. It's easy to use but you should use only in the mobile eyelid.
-Pencil: The most comun. It's the easiest to use, you can use it in both eyelids. The covergirl ones that has and sponge on the other side are great 4 begginers, you just stretch the eyelid, make a line as close as posible to the eyelashes and with the sponge you blur it.
-Liquid: It's the harderst to use, it needs lots of practice, practice use it at home alone. This is not in fashion now, but a good idea to work with it it's to put it as I explained with pencil and let it dry, after, put a dark eyeshadow (preferible black) and it will act as pencil but it would last long long time!!! Hope this works 4 ya!!!

liquid eyeliner looks vampier than pencil, anyways use a white pencil liner to show u where to go also try to use the same pressure (none) to the lid, stretch ur eye (like when u do to look asian) and apply with ur other hand. at first do it till u reach the end of the eyelid then go crazy with the "tail". Do it before u apply mascara

I use liquid eye liner on the top of my eye..and use pencil on the bottom. To apply the liquid I lift up my eye by putting my finger below my eyebrow and lift up...it makes for a pretty straight line to just run the liner across....or you can hold your elbow with the other hand to make it so you dont shake so much...just a suggestion

It depends on what look you're going for. If you want really dramatic eyes, use liquid. However, liquid is also harder to apply, so you may want to stick with pencil until you're experienced.

Try to do short little lines, not your whole eye, at a time. You can always trace over it again to make it thicker. It helps to keep your eye closed.

Good luck!
