My job is to approach council tenants to see if they want to buy their council houses..I work for a highly reputable company but I know there are companies out there that are cowboys...A lot of the tenants I speak to wont give me the time of day and when I ask them why, the main reason is because of the publicity of theses bad companies....We're not allowed to hold prejudice against a particular race just because of a couple of bad apples...so why should this be any different? If these people hold these beliefs then do they have a potentially racist attitude?

There's a world of difference between races and companies. An individual can't choose what race he is born into. The way different races, or rather ethnicities, behave is the result of years of cultural evolution. It's neither right nor wrong, it just is.

By contrast, an individual can choose what company he works for. The way businesses act and how they are percieved changes the way they are run. If no one judged a business on others like it, then consumers would suffer.

There's a big difference between abusing someone just because of their skin colour, and stereotyping someone because their 'colleagues' are a bunch of cowboys.

So no, it's not like racism at all - but it is prejudicial.
