This is a good general rule. If your guest is uninvited, it is nervy to presume that you could impose yourself on someone for any time at all in the first place. In that case, three days would be generous! These 'sayings' get started for a reason, don't they?

how very true. in addition, invited family should never stay beyond that 3 day period. all become quite ripe and need to be put out with the trash after 3.

I have used that one in several of my anwers. Yes , Company is like fish, after 3 days it begins to smell.

Well it is best to eat the fish within three days or toss it out, but if after three days you are still eating your guest, maybe they have not overstayed their welcome after all.

After about a day I get claustrophobic. After two days I get major case of cabin fever, after three days I am building up into a raving loon.

you can keep fried fish but you cannot fry guest ...so keep fish but throw guest out....
