It depends on the context and what kind of mood I am in. The 200 note rapid fire acoustic guitar solos (like Tony Rice) really get me fired up. They drive home a musical point and are very impressive.
However, for a mood or emotion, the spaces between the notes are just as much a part of the music as the notes themselves along with the tone and nuance. One of my favorite guitar parts because of the mood and feeling of it is in Wicked Game by Chris Isaak. It has few notes, but they are laid out so sublimely.
So, really I like both.

I think it depends. Some of the great Van Halen solos with the 200 notes are just incredible.

But at the same time listening to Slash's solos when he was with GNR are awesome too.

I guess I'd say the ones that bring emotion like the solos of old GNR.

Check out a great guitar solo by Eric Johnson - "Cliffs of Dover".
It's a 6 minute long piece that has great riffs...google the video from Austin City Limits...you won't regret it.

To me, expressiveness is everything in playing guitar, especially in the solos.

Give me David Gilmour over a shredder any day.
