You are not alone. My daughter is drawn to it. I think it's pathetic how they allow people on to the show that obviously have no talent or in fact are mentally ill. This is appalling.

My wife has a theory that they allow the top 1% on the show and the bottom 1% so people miss a large amount of the possibles because of the pre-show tryouts.
I think using people that are total losers as they do is sick.

I haven't watched it since Clay Aiken was on and even then I only watched it because of my kids. They get these people to judge....with the exception of Paula Abdul...who haven't been all that successful. Now, before I get tar and feathered....before AI...who really knew about Randy or Simon? I never remember them being on the Grammys or in the news. Also, there is a way of being honest without being offensive...and Simon talking about someone's looks? Have you checked out his girlfriend. She's about as attractive as a Buzzard's crotch.

No! It is not my favorite show by far... Having to see Ryan Seacrest is bad enough, but season after season!!! Plus then to find out that they don't count half the votes & phone lines fall all the time while they lead you to believe that "you decide" makes me really dislike the show.

Not hardly, but for most people I think it is like a train wreck or car accident, you can't look away!
It's a sad commentary on our society that most people can name last year's idol winner but not last year's Nobel prize winner.

No, I can't stand it either, but for some strange reason we do seem to be the minority.
