Maybe that's what's wrong with me today ... yeah ... I played marbles when I was a kid and lost most of them. You may have solved a life time mystery for me. Never thought about that before but I know who has most of them but that won't help me get them back ... haven't seen the fellow in over 55 years. Guess I should be content with what marbles I still have and not take any chances of loosing them too. But seriously, my Mom would buy me a bunch of marbles. The game was popular in the mid 50's. I remember the "tommy trollers". They were twice the size of a regular marble. Some were solid in color, some had swirls through them, I had cat eyes too but I guess my favorite ones were "purries". They were different colors but just clear glass. I wasn't very good at the game and it didn't take long before most of them were gone. Good memories. Thanks

Yeah I used to love playing marbles as a kid, now that I am grown and have kids of my own, i think I lost all my marbles..lol

lol i used to have loads of those silver ones and those big ones too, mam used to go crazy cos we gouged holes in the tarmac path cos we wasn't allowed out of the garden..I wont disclose how I got the big ones off the boys though lol

Yes, and they always used to got down the drains at the edge of the playground, which stunk like hell when you stuck your hand in to get them back.
