you may have to record a couple of cycles until you know your luteal phase. Watching your body for signs of ovulation can help. about 10 days after your first day of your peiod start checking your temperature when you first wake up and check cervical mucus. I have a 30 day cycle so the typical 14 days was a bit off for me. I use mymonthlycycles.com, it'll make an menstration and ovulation calendar for you so you have a general idea of when to watch for ovulation and when you can start to check. You can record your daily temperature and mucus changes so you can watch for that temp spike and fluid change. then when you know you've ovulated you can start to count the days. I used the 14 day option until I had a better idea and was able to adjust the calculations and now it seems to be right on track with my body. It can be a long process and quite frankly a pain in the rear.
Good Luck! :)
